There’s an exciting new program happening in Dayton KY this summer. To encourage folks to try the great new restaurants along Routet 8, the Dayton Main Street Board has joined with Dayton restaurant owners to create “I 8 in Dayton”. This promotion gives diners a one-time 8% discount on food purchases when they present their “I 8 in Dayton Passport”. After they have collected signatures from all eight restaurants, they can redeem their passport for a free limited edition Dayton t-shirt. Passports can be picked up at participating restaurants or at the Dayton City Building.
Beth Nyman, chair of Dayton’s Main Street Board, said “The Main Street Board has been working hard to attract new development and commerce to Dayton Kentucky, and we hope this promotion calls attention to the exciting things that are going on here in town. Once people come we are sure they will return”. The Main Street Board has also created a picnic table for the Catalytic Fund’s Picnic Table Project with the “I 8 in Dayton Logo” painted on it. That picnic table has been placed at Dayton’s Monument Park at 6th Avenue and Berry. It gives patrons a place to eat their to-go orders should they choose a picnic setting in the center of town.
There is something for everyone in Dayton’s new restaurant scene, no matter what you are craving. From burgers to steak, seafood to Chinese or BBQ to fried chicken we have a wide variety of choices. Councilperson Joe Neary says “This promotion is a great incentive for residents and visitors to our city to visit all of Dayton’s vibrant dining options. The best part is that they are all owner-operated, so all their food and service has a personal touch”. The eight participating restaurants are AA Wok, Buck’s BBQ, Divine Waffles and Weck, Hometown Heroes, Kate’s Catering, Purple Poulet, Riverside Marina and Trotta’s. The promotion lasts until September 3rd, so hurry and get your passport started and enjoy some delicious food along the way.
