We have had so much to celebrate at LES over the past month because of the many great accomplishments of our students. At our quarterly Recognition Assembly held on January 13th, students were recognized for academic excellence and perfect attendance for the 2nd quarter of school. Students wore their newly earned MAP ribbons for achieving their goals or reaching the grade level marks with 166 additional ribbons were given to students scoring in the 80th and 90th percentiles on these important tests. We had 50 students make the honor roll with another 21 students making the super honor roll for the second quarter of school. These students earned the right to travel to local restaurants for the honor lunch celebration on February 3. We also celebrated 45 students who had perfect attendance for the first semester of school. We were also very proud to give out specially designed t-shirts for students meeting their “Math Facts in a Flash” goal and for earning 100 AR Points.
Our students have also shown their hard work in areas outside of the classroom with their participation in the expansive extracurricular programs we offer here at Lincoln. The academic team and chess club continue to excel in friendly competitions with children from local school districts. Our robotics club is working hard two days a week in preparation for their upcoming tournament this spring. We also continue to see great gains with our youth basketball program. Students in grades 3-6 have been very competitive over the past few months and are preparing for their season-ending tournaments. The wrestling club competed very well during the season and sent several student athletes to the state tournament on February 5 in Louisville. Our student council continues to dedicate themselves in doing many wonderful projects around our school. Lastly, the drama club has been working very hard as they prepare for their upcoming production of “The Little Mermaid” on April 21st and April 22nd.
We are extremely proud of our students’ hard work and dedication in becoming the best person they can be. We are also very grateful and proud for our dedicated staff members who help inspire, engage and grow EACH Lincoln student.
