We have had so much to celebrate at LES over the past month because of the many great accomplishments of our students. At our quarterly Recognition Assembly held on January 19th, students were recognized for academic excellence and perfect attendance for the 2nd quarter of school. Students wore their newly earned MAP ribbons for achieving their goals or reaching the grade level marks with 129 additional ribbons given to students scoring in the 80th and 90th percentiles on these important tests. We had 55 students make the honor roll with another 23 students making the super honor roll for the second quarter of school. These students earned the right to travel to local restaurants for the honor lunch celebration on February 8th. We also celebrated 132 students who had perfect attendance for the second quarter of school.
Our students have also shown their hard work in areas outside of the classroom with their participation in the expansive extracurricular programs we offer here at Lincoln. The academic team and chess club continue to excel in friendly competitions with students from local school districts. Our robotics club, student council, and newly formed STLP club are meeting weekly on important projects. We also continue to see great gains with our youth basketball program and wrestling club. Our new gardening club begins meeting this month. We also became the first elementary school in the state to form a Special Olympics Unified Young Athlete Program, a bowling program. Lastly, the drama club has been working very hard as they prepare for their upcoming production of “Shrek Jr”.
We are extremely proud of our students’ hard work and dedication in becoming the best person they can be. We are also very grateful and proud for our dedicated staff members who help inspire, engage and grow EACH Lincoln student.
