The Annual Northern KY Kite Festival was a huge success this year. It was a beautiful day, the wind was cooperative and everyone had a great time. We purchased some great kites this year that were both easy to put together and flew great even with the smallest hands. It was exciting to see. The inflatables were a big hit! Thanks to Cincinnati ArtsWave for the generous grant. If you missed this event, you missed a great time.
I want to thank all of the volunteers who came through for us again this year. For fear of missing anyone, I won’t publish a list. Without such good support from our residents and friends, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. You know who you are and the Dayton Civic Activity Board sincerely thanks you!
I would like to mention a few Dayton residents who ALWAYS come through for every event we have. There are a lot actually but these 3 in particular go above and beyond Every. Single. Time! Tom Hansel and the Roadmen, Tom and Melody Dilts and family, and Colleen Carr. We love you guys! Thank you!
Thanks to all the hard work and energy from both our Music Fest and Kite Fest we are able to once again have the annual Light Up Dayton. This year it will be held on December 3 at the old YMCA building from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. I would like to touch on a few changes this year. The line to see Santa will be formed outside. Please make sure your children dress appropriately for the weather.
Due to the layout of the building and everything we are having this year, strollers will need to be left outside. You won't be disappointed, as we will again have Santa and Mrs. Claus, stockings filled to the brim, craft tables, Toy Land, free books, a Christmas photo booth ($3.00), hot dogs, popcorn and drinks for all of the kiddies and maybe even a surprise or two.
Immediately following we will proceed to the monument and festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. We hope you are able to join us at both events.
