Every owner of a dog or cat within the corporate limits of the city shall be required to purchase annually an animal license from the City Clerk/Treasurer’s office; the cost of the license is five dollars ($5.00). All licenses are to be purchased no later than July 15 of each year and shall be valid until July 14 of the following year. The owner shall provide the age, breed, sex, and color of each animal to be licensed.
No person shall conduct a yard sale within the city without first obtaining a permit from the City Clerk/Treasurer to conduct the sale at each premise. No person shall be issued more than two permits per calendar year. No permit shall be issued for more than three consecutive calendar days. The permit shall be prominently displayed at each premise upon which the yard sale is conducted throughout the entire period of the sale. The cost for one day is $5.00, two or three days $10.00. Block yard sale one day $5.00 for the first premises at which a yard sale is conducted, and $2.00 for each additional premise on the block and Block yard sale, two or three days: $10 for the first premises at which a yard sale is conducted and $5 for each additional.
For each calendar year, every person engaged in business within the city shall be required to obtain an occupational license and pay a license tax to the city on or before April 15th of each calendar year, except as provided herein. No license issues under this chapter shall authorize any person to engage in any business other than the one for which the license was issued, unless transferred by the City Clerk/Treasurer as provided by law.
