The Commercial Community Advantage Program, better known as CCAP has been in full swing for over a year now in the city of Dayton, Kentucky. Its success can be measured in companies such as the two that we are featuring this month. It’s hard to believe that Odessa at NKY Designs and Joe at Ables Upholstery have graced Sixth Avenue with their beautiful storefronts since July of last year. This is what they say about doing business in Dayton:
Odessa: In August, NKY Custom Designs celebrated our One Year Anniversary. To some this may not sound like a big deal but to us, this was a critical step to becoming an established business in the City of Dayton.
Before we focus on some of our accomplishments, it would be negligent of me if I didn’t speak about what made this year successful. The number one driver in our success is our customers; the great citizens of this little, but big town. Since day one, everyone has accepted us like we’ve been here for years. A comfort level was immediately established with many of you. Many friendships were also developed along the way!
Over the past year, we were able to partner with several organizations within Dayton. These partnerships allowed us to provide service to these organizations for the good of the community. It’s an amazing feeling when we see our product being displayed proudly on men, women, and children of all ages. We look forward to continuing to plant our roots in this great town by providing an amazing service while creating a network of relationships with everyone. We are blessed to be a part of this amazing community!
Right next door to NKY Custom Designs is Ables Upholstery, a company with a very solid reputation in the field. Odessa is the owner of NKY and her father Joe is owner operator of Ables Upholstery. Here’s a brief overview of Joe’s business, with a little bit of history about this company that does such wonderful work.
Joe: In August, Ables Upholstery surpassed our one year mark of being located in the City of Dayton. The community experience has been wonderful. This relocation of my business to Dayton was instrumental for the success of the business. With the convenient location, I’m able to attract customers from several different areas.
Ables Upholstery has been in business for 39 years. Our initial business, formally known as J &C Upholstery, was located on the Avenue in Bellevue, KY. After several years, I relocated to Daytona Beach, FL in order to become an expert in marine upholstery services. After 19 successful years in Florida, I decided to move back home to Kentucky to be closer to family and friends. I’m looking forward to the continued growth of business and friendships alike.
The city began this program in order to attract good, solid businesses to Dayton and these two businesses are very important to the growth of our Central Business District. Happy Anniversary to Joe at Ables Upholstery and Odessa at NKY Custom Designs.
