A recent study was completed on children who live in a variety of different environments and who come from a variety of different family conditions. The study found that some children hear over 30 million words LESS than some other children, based on their environment.
The number of questions and positive statements children hear from their caregivers can also be very impactful. The study found some groups of children hear 35 questions and 32 positive statements per hour where as other only hear 5 positive statements. How do we change this?
Guess what?!?! It’s FREE!
The attached link is to a video that is two minutes and 49 seconds long. We challenge you to watch it and understand how powerful early childhood interactions and language exchanges can be.

For a more information on this early childhood language challenge I highly recommend the book by Dana Suskind called Thirty Million Words. We would love to see everyone SHARE this information with someone who has a young child!
