The Courage of the Call
The New Year is a month old already! Last month we wrote about resolutions and encouraged you to work on a relationship with The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Many may have decided, it’s a good time for new beginnings and relationships and for those who made this their new year resolution.
One month into the New Year, working on our relationships with not much happening so far? You may be attempting to listen for His word and what paths you should take. Something comes up that you are called to, but you are not sure you can handle it. Do you answer or do you run the other way? This is tough, you may feel not worthy, afraid of making a mistake, or of causing harm to someone or something. This is where God wants us to have the courage to carry out the call. He is saying “overcome the fear and get moving.”
We must push forward and get out of the routine of staying in the same place where we feel safe. There might be setbacks, we may stumble, and we might even fall smack down on our face. God will be there to pick us up, dust us off, give us a gentle kiss and push us to get moving again.
The world is full of turmoil, hatred, and violence. It’s not always going to be easy. There will be trouble and heartache, but don’t give up! Have the courage to act on God’s word. Be faithful and take the next step. Many won’t give it, keep on working on them and they will come around. Have the courage to keep on keeping on.
When you have a choice to run or go, always choose to go and know that God will respond. Don’t be afraid of trying. God’s got you. Trust him.
