As the leaves fall and the weather turns colder, November is a time for us to reflect, be thankful and to start getting ready for the holiday season.
The VFW will hold their annual Veteran’s Day service on November 11th at 2 PM at the War Memorial at the Town Center at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Berry Street. In the event of bad weather, the service will be held at VFW located at 828 Sixth Ave.
The Dayton Kentucky Business Association and the Dayton Main Street Advisory Board are proud to announce the First-Annual Dayton Kentucky Holiday Market! The Dayton Kentucky Holiday Market is an up-beat and eclectic holiday pop-up shop, and the perfect place to find your handmade and unique gifts this holiday season. The shop will be located in the Raimey Building at 635 6th Avenue in the heart of the Dayton business district
The Dayton Kentucky Holiday Market will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, starting Black Friday November 24th through Saturday December 23rd. The hours will be Fridays from 4pm-8pm, Saturdays noon-8pm and Sundays noon to 5pm.
The Dayton KY Civics Activity Board will be hosting “Light Up Dayton” for the children of our community on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the former YMCA building at the north end of Berry Street.. At Light Up Dayton, Santa and Mrs. Claus will hand out gifts for the children who will be served hot dogs, chips and drinks and more. At 5:00 p.m. everyone will head to the town square for caroling, storytelling, lighting of the trees and wish lanterns as well as serving hot chocolate and cookies for everyone.
Also on the development front the remodel of the former Hasco Building is almost complete and several businesses are getting ready to occupy the building. Also, Redknot has begun construction on the first of sixteen custom built homes at their site at 10th Avenue and O’Fallon Avenue in Dayton. These custom built homes will range in price from the mid 500 thousands to the mid 700 thousands.
