I want to extend my best wishes for a Happy New Year to the citizens of Dayton. Dayton has greatly benefited from our planning as a quality city and our strong partnership with our fine citizens and community organizations.
I also want to welcome our new incoming City Council members Jeff Haas and Jeff Volter, as well as welcome back our re-elected Council members Bill Burns, Denny Lynn, Ben Baker and Joe Neary. Our City Council and administrative staff will continue to provide citizens with quality services and opportunities for economic growth.
I believe that we are on track with our vision for Dayton and we will continue to work on making our vision a reality in 2017.
Best wishes for the coming year,
As we come to a close this year, I want to thank everyone for all of their hard work and dedication that you have contributed to our city. I am so proud to live here and be your Mayor, and I’m looking forward to this coming New Year as we continue to move forward with our economic development projects and ongoing special events.
I also want to thank the Dayton Civic Club for pulling off another great Light Up Dayton event on Sunday, December 4. Watching all the kids come through the line at the fire house to meet Santa, receive great gifts and enjoy a slice of pizza was a gentle reminder of what fun children bring to the Christmas season.
In closing, I urge our citizens to remember to be safe during this holiday season. Please take care of yourselves and enjoy each day responsibly. From all of us at the Dayton City Building, we would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas season.
Mayor Virgil Boruske
