I thought I'd take some time to update on development projects happening around Dayton. Arlington Properties has announced that they will be developing Tapestry on the River, a 263-luxury apartment complex on the east end of Manhattan Harbour Boulevard.
The Gateway Flats at Manhattan Harbour is another apartment development currently under construction on the west side of the Manhattan Harbour development at the corner of Walnut Avenue and Third Avenue. This is the first phase of Gateway Flats and it will have 74-luxury apartments.
Another exciting development that is moving forward is Redknot Homes' Pottebaum Point development at the corner of 10th Avenue and O'Fallon Avenue. This project will develop nineteen custom homes with some of the best views in the region.
From the City of Dayton, we are glad to announce that the cameras we requested as part of a Homeland Security Grant have been installed around the city. Also, the design phase for the Riverfront Commons Trail has been completed and is currently being reviewed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The design phase for the Sixth Avenue streetscape and Dayton Pike sidewalk projects are also wrapping up, and we expect to send these designs to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet this month.
The 89th Annual Bellevue-Dayton Memorial Day Parade will be Monday, May 28th. The parade will assemble at 10:00 AM with a 10:30 AM starting time. If you would like to participate in this year's parade contact Ann Sparks at 859-448-0665.
Also, on May 12th there will be a flower sale by the War Memorial on Sixth Avenue and Berry Street from11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, just in time for Mother's Day. And the Dayton Eagles will be having their Rockin' on the Porch event on May 26 from 6:00 PM to Midnight.
Until next month,
Mayor Ben Baker
Ben Baker is currently serving his first term as mayor after two consecutive terms on Dayton City Council. Mr. Baker lives on historic 6th Avenue and enjoys the walkable nature of Dayton as well as it’s many friendly streets.
