School Days, School Days…..Well the kids are back in school and we are all looking forward to an exciting 2016-2017 School Year. Good Luck to all of my young friends. Enjoy these special days, learn all you can and if you don't mind a suggestion from the Ole Fire Dog, READ! Since I don't have a lot of money I enjoy a truly exciting adventure by picking up a book and reading about fun travels to Rome, Germany, Hawaii. Let your imagination run wild and picture yourself among majestic sights, page after page.
The Duty Crew and I had a fun filled day with our Bellevue senior friends on Tuesday, August 16th at the Bellevue Vets at the City of Bellevue Annual Senior Citizen Picnic. Mary Scott did a splendid job as usual, and Steve Brun was a charming host as the rest of the Bellevue City Crew made our Seniors feel great! I enjoy these events and am looking forward to the City of Dayton's Senior Citizen Picnic at the VFW Hall on Wednesday September 14th. Be sure you are signed up. Just so you know, the Campbell County Seniors Picnic will be held on Thursday, September 22nd at Pendery Park on Route 8.
There is still some time left for some late summer fun before fall arrives, so be sure to check out the exciting things going on around the area. I hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day events. We are fortunate to have these things going on right in our neighborhood.
October is Fire Prevention Month, so I will have some excellent tips and suggestions for Fire Safety. NFPA’s Theme for this year is, "Don't Wait! Check the Date!” Please check your smoke alarms for expiration dates, as they do expire. They may work past the expiration date, but do you really want to take that chance? We are still looking for a source to help us fund smoke alarms, since all of my Free Sources have dried up. If anyone knows of a means or source, please let Fireman Joe know, THANKS!
Until next time, Stay Safe!
The crew from Fire Department Bellevue-Dayton took the time to pose for a picture with MacKenzie and Ambria Burchfield at a recent lunch break at Gold Star Chili.
