A Distinguished District!
George Bernard Shaw once said, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” A great deal is changing in our Dayton schools and community!
It has been a long road back to academic excellence for our schools and community, and we are incredibly proud that last month our school district was recognized for the first time as being one of Kentucky’s Distinguished School Districts. Earlier this year our school report card indicated that our district had earned the level of being a Proficient District. Upon further review of the student performance data, our district has now been classified as Distinguished.
Our new School Report Card has our district rated the number 70th district in the state out of 173 districts. Locally, there are seven distinguished school districts: Fort Thomas, Beechwood, Campbell County, Walton Verona, Erlanger, Boone County, and Dayton. We are currently outperforming 12 other school districts in our region.
For our students, staff, and families this has been a continuous improvement journey that has taken a lot of hard work, team work, and a belief that everyone can achieve at high levels. We do recognize that scores on a school report card are not the ultimate goal of any school district. However, it is good to see such positive results coming from our classrooms.
Our mission will continue to be to Inspire, Engage, and Grow each of our Students! We take great pride in living out this mission every day and look forward to continued growth in the future!
We want to thank our incredible kids, our amazing staff, and our supportive community for working together to GROW our schools and community! We GROW together!
