Dayton High School Drug Free Club now has over 140 student members, including every volleyball player and cheerleader! Our club is now three times larger than last year. Our students are proud to have made the commitment to stay drug free and are receiving great rewards for their healthy choices. The Dayton/Bellevue Fire Dept. recently visited DHS students and encouraged students to join. We also received generous donations totaling $400 from the Southgate VFW, Sharon Beatsch, and John and Sandra Ranson. Drug Free Club welcomes any community support. If you or your organization would like to sponsor students for memberships or donate any rewards or incentives, please contact Sherri Chan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All students in grades 7-11 completed CERT testing in the areas of science, math, English and reading during the first week of October. CERT testing helps us assess progress, make scheduling decisions, plan intervention and prepare students for the ACT. CERT testing is one of many tools we've used to achieve as a distinguished school. High school students will prepare for another CERT test on December 12th.
The Dayton Marching Band has grown to 27 total members over the past year. We currently have 15 playing members, 7 Guard, and 5 Shadows. Our show incorporates many new elements of music, marching, and even a dance routine. Please join us on Saturday, October 21st for our first annual Veterans Memorial concert at 2PM. Please also join us for our two remaining contests at Colerain High School (28th) and our championship round at Norwood High School (Nov. 4th). Thank you for your continued support of the DMS/DHS Band!
