Dayton Middle School and Dayton High School have joined the elite top 10% of middle and high schools across the entire state of Kentucky with distinguished ratings! Please help us congratulate our teachers, students, staff and parents for the dedication it takes to reach such an accomplishment and for continuing to find new and innovative ways to inspire, engage and grow our students.
Just this month, we shared examples of the work that elevates our students to such high levels of success, including eleven students who began a mentoring program, failure rates among our students with disabilities decreasing by 44% and another Greendevil Senior became college ready this week after taking the KYOTE test. 33.3% of our seniors are now college or career ready within the first month of school! Extracurricular sports, clubs and competitions contribute immensely to student growth and character so our athletic director, Barbie Lukens, offered to share impressive updates.
Fall sports started off with a bang and are quickly winding down as post season tournaments and games are coming up soon. There have been only 4 days in the fall season when there was not a competition of some sort scheduled! Whew, what a whirlwind our kids are in. We have many dual sport athletes, while also taking college classes, maintaining honor roll status and getting themselves accepted to college. That is how GREENDEVILS roll!
In case you haven't heard, Dayton beat Bellevue this season in football for the first time in 9 years. We have also picked up a win against New Miami in Ohio. We have a few games left before our district competitions and are hopeful to be hosting a home playoff game. In other sports:
On to the post season and the winter sports that are right around the corner. It's a great time to be a Greendevil and I proudly say I love my job as the athletic director for these amazing kids and coaches! Grow, Fight, Win!
