“Fall” Into Faith
Fall is here and with the season comes cooler weather, pumpkins, Halloween, and beautiful falling leaves. We are blessed to live in a region where seasons change. With each season we are reminded that change is inevitable regardless of if we are ready for it or not. Unfortunately, change can be scary. Not knowing what is to come can cause us to live fearfully, resisting the changes that are bound to come. Change, while scary, doesn’t have to be bad. Take the trees for example; summer slowly fades to fall, the lush green trees transform to beautiful shades of orange, gold, and red. Then, one-by-one, the leaves fall to the ground. Is this the end of life for these trees? Or is it an opportunity to grow into larger, more luscious trees next spring? The change of the trees from green to orange, gold, and red, to brown is simply a chance for the trees to extend their branches and grow in ways that they never could if the trees were too afraid of change to let their leaves fall. Changing seasons is a reminder to us that, like the trees, we are always evolving, growing, and learning in ourselves. Change is undeniably scary. If we have faith that God has a plan for us and we trust in that plan, we will grow to see the bigger and better things for us on the other side of that change. Resisting change and growth will only limit us. Have faith and trust in God to guide us into the vision He has created for us. Allow your branches to grow and extend to new possibilities.
